Hi Kathanna, Maggie passed this on to me as I generally deal with anything historical on Eigg. Yes this sounds as if it a project we should get involved with. And yeas we do have some histroical connection with Columba in that the saint that brought Christianity to the island, Donnan, is said to have met Columba who predicted his death by martydom on Eigg at the hand of Pictish heathens. StDonnan had established a small monastic community on Eigg, but his monks were allegedly killed with him in AD 617. However, a flourishing monastic communitiy was re-established on Eigg from Iona in the 7th century which thrived until the viking raids. So that the story that you could include, and I will be happy to discuss it further with you next week. You can certainly call me on 01687 492410, and I wil try to call you in any case. with best wishes, Camille Dressler Images have arrived since then
